@engineer,
I agree the raging violent protest has to stop, it only hurts their community more and the cause of justice more. However, number one, not all the violence last summer was caused by the protestors and number two, why can't both sentence be good to say?

THIS ABUSE OF CITIZENS BY POLICE HAS TO STOP!

we have some problems in our policing that need to be addressed,

It’s hard for me to comment too strongly about protesters staying law-abiding and orderly.

I don’t expect anyone here to understand this...
But I don’t even know for certain what I might be capable of, if Chauvin is acquitted.

Three thousand National Guardsmen are now mobilized in Minneapolis.

I am not known for my patience, but surely there must be some holdouts. I personally don't see why they have taken this long much less all day and perhaps another day.

@snood,
Where were they when the Capitol was invaded by hordes of Trump supporters and KKK types? I wonder if the police and NG will calmly escort any unruly protesters out to their cars or whatever?

One thing that might add to the length of the deliberations is the occupations of a couple of the jurors. One is a chemist, one is a registered nurse. So they might want to try to get in the weeds with technical minutiae.

Some really interesting speculation from another HLN lawyer/pundit.
He thinks the fact that there have been absolutely no notes from the jury to the judge asking questions or for clarifications, it means the jurors are working straight through the evidence and will come to a unanimous decision. Evidently in cases like this it’s common to get a lot of communication between the jurors and the judge- not here.

the judge has instructed all jurors NOT to draw from their professional expertise during deliberation...

I'm sure they are marking the parking lot where the reporters are parked so they can spike their tires.

I know they got directions. I don’t think human nature will be totally corralled in that jury room.

I think the sooner they come back, the better. In this case it seems to me that long deliberations = undecided = hung jury.

Dang I just heard that Chauvin has been out on bail all this time. He’s been watching this from home, just like the rest of us. Hopefully that place of residence changes soon,

@revelette3,
I just heard on the radio they would be reading out the verdict in a couple of hours. Has it already been announced?

I hope they put him in the hardest wing of the hardest prison that houses nothing but black men who have been beaten by cops.

Really, there was no other obvious conclusion, but what took 10.5 hours?? Oh to be a fly on the wall.
