In one alone I'll prove there's none,
in nine but one can count.
In seven but five, yet six alone,
do unto nine amount.
In only five I only four can see,
pray tell me then, how this can be?
Looks like it has something to do with the number of letters in the names of the numbers, e. g. there are 4 letters in the word "five", etc.
It's embedded Roman numbers:
nIne
seVen
sIX
fIVe
are u sure cuz if you look at it that way then just about fifty percent of our words are imbeded with roman numerals

markr is correct. Read the clues closely and you'll see the sense in it.
