Do you know detective novels series where the main character is a woman? In French, there is Chrystine Brouillet with her character Maud Graham.
@Yalow,
The
Maisie Dobbs series by Jacqueline Winspear
Agatha Christie's
Miss Marple
The number 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency.
Here is a list of writers I found, but I hav'nt read them yet:
Lisa Gardner, Ragnar Jonasson, Preston and Child, Jessica Fletcher, Tristan Saule, Niko Tackian, George Flipo, Elizabeth Little, Charlotte Link, Keith McCafferty, Kathy Reichs.
I just finished Old Bones, by Lincoln Child and Douglas Preston. The main characters are Nora Kelly, an archeologist, and Corrie Swanson, a FBI agent. Good book.
Alifair Burke. Daughter of James Lee Burke. Experience as a prosecutor and also teaches law. She's good.
@Yalow,
Jamie Freveletti - her main character Emma Caldridge is brilliant.
"Running with the Devil" won best thriller award in 2010.
@hightor,
By Jacqueline Winspear I read
Among the Mad,
A Dangerous Place, and
Journey to Munich. I liked those so much that I asked the city library to buy the first one of the series (
Maisie Dobbs), and they accepted!
Wasn't Jessica Fletcher a fictional character.......played by Angela Landsberry.
@glitterbag,
I think they sell books under her name as a writer.
@Yalow,
I think the books you are referring to are the fictional 'books' written by the fictional 'writer', Jessica Fletcher, in fictional detective stories.
@Yalow,
The Flavia De Luce Mysteries is my favorite female (amateur) detective. So far, there are 10 books in that series.
Quote:Precocious motherless 11-year old fascinated with chemistry and death bicycles around Bishop's Lacey from ancient country house Buckshaw in 1950s England.
@hightor,
I read the whole Miss Maple series!
@Yalow,
Sounds like a Canadian knock off.
Still reading Maisie Dobbs by Jacqueline Winspear: Messenger of Truth.
@Yalow,
Richard Osman's book is very popular right now.
It might be just him.
@jespah,
Just finished
Dead Land, by Sara Paretsky, a novel of the
V.I. Warshaski series. Liked it.
