Happy Black History Month 2021! Doing anything special for it?

Hi. Happy Black History Month 2021! February in the U.S. is Black History Month. Are you doing anything special for it this year?

I wished two African Americans I know a Happy Black History Month, and one white guy, due to his insistence, but that was about it.

When Black History Month comes around I don't really do anything to commemorate, observe and/or celebrate it. I don't really have time for that.

What about you? Please help. Thank you.

No one else cares about BLACK HISTORY MONTH here?
Not even Real Music or Snood?

I wished a handful of African Americans I know plus one guy in the street a Happy Black History Month.

I wished one White guy a Happy Black History Month, due to his insistence.

@JGoldman10,
1. You are referencing one single month out of the year.

2. I represent 365 days a year.

Okay. Have you ever done anything special for Black History Month outside of the internet?

If you are referring to attending some specific event such as a parade, then the answer is no.

@Real Music,
Frank Braxton is regarded as the first African American animator in Hollywood:

He was the first black animator to be hired by both Disney and Warner Bros.

@Real Music,
Okay. What projects did you work on if I may ask?

You asked me to list African American figures I admired so I listed those two animators. I am not sure if "admire" is a word I would use. I respect the fact that they were able to work as animators during the Golden Age of Hollywood animation. The fact that two African American animators were hired by any Hollywood cartoon studios during the Golden Age of Hollywood animation proves that Hollywood wasn't entirely biased.

It's too bad Mr. Cornelius killed himself.

@Real Music,
I admire Dr. Martin Luther King and Nelson Mandela. I know Mandela isn't an African American but he's still an important figure in Black history.

1. One thing that comes to mind was something I did at the place I used to work sometime during the 1990s.

2. Some organizers were seeking out volunteers to speak on any historical black figure we chose to talk about.

3. I had volunteered to be one of those speakers.

4. I chose to give a presentation on Harriet Tubman.

@Real Music,
I don't know if he was a Christian or not but he should not have killed himself. Didn't he kill himself around the same time Robin Williams did?
