I know a couple of people (collectors) who have tons of knick knacks of various sorts.
One person I'm thinking of for example, has them on her fireplace mantle, on top of her TV, on top of her book cases, on little knick knack shelves around her house, in the bathroom, in the kitchen, etc. etc.
She loves her little ceramic figures/animals.
I would RESENT them.
All I can think of in a house like that is DUSTING. I HATE dusting!
I can't even get it done in my sparse and spartan house.
But these people are NEAT.
I don't know how they do it . . . I mean they have to empty each shelf, dust it, then dust each of the *#/^! knick knacks, then put them all back in their little places. Yuk!
I'd make it in a place like that for about three weeks before I'd be hurling the *#/^! critters out the window!
LOL jjorge! I'm the same way. I like to collect things that I can put away for a future investment and don't take much room. I'm not a big duster myself ;-)
Hi Gezzy
That's what I like about my antique post cards. They take up very little space. A few are framed and hanging but most of them are in albums that I can take out or put away in a closet.
P.S.
I just changed my signature quote to one (by Thoreau) that expresses his feelings on the 'Tyranny of possessions.'
jjorge
That's my way of collecting for sure, although I still do collect some things that take up space.
Gezzy
You're up late a lot! Come to think of it, if I remember correctly you live in the maritimes don't you? Is it NB? That would make it 4:08 a.m. there.
jjorge
I'm just a natural night owl :-D
Gezzy
Well you've outlasted me! I'm going to catch some zzzzz's
Hasta Luego!
gezzy and jjorge, The trick is to hire a maid to do the dusting. LOL c.i.
