Atheists-How do you feel about Buckner Payne's The Negro book from 1867?

There was a book published in the south of the US in 1867 by a clergyman named Buckner Payne that said things like "the negro is not a human being" and all as it was a guide to why people of different skin color were not human.

Another reason to despise religion eh?

I'm critical of religious belief and seldom pass up the opportunity to say so. But I can't despise religion because of this clown — after all, the abolitionist movement was largely promoted by Quakers and evangelicals. But it sure illustrates how individual human beings can be despicable.

What about priests like Oscar Romero who was killed by the military dictatorship in El Salvador for attacking its human rights record?

Ricky Gervais is an atheist and he’s a transphobic piece of ****.
