Why does charging (as opposed to maintaining) a battery with a solar charger supposedly make the battery useless because it loses capacity? I have a deep cycling battery that might matter too.
@turbomichelle,
I don't know that it does. Why do you say charging via solar is different than charging via any other technique?
@engineer,
we charge our RV with a huge bank of solar roof panels. I like to see about a 5 A 14.5 V charge by the meters. Id volunteer to get a charge meter rather than just use the color lights. On my original setup, I had the lights just uner the dash and they were kinda annoying

What are you using the battery for?
