@Stormwatch,
Even though I don't wear uber-outdated clothes like Member's Only jackets, I'm an not a student of what's popular to wear these days.

You subscribe to Vogue Italia or Vogue Paris.

@Stormwatch,
Other then the once every 2 or 3 month purchase of a MegaMillions lottery ticket, I stay away from even gentlemen's bets.

You put a couple of dollars into an weekly office run lotto pool.

Yes. Traveling is indeed quite a wonderful adventure. Half the fun is getting there!

You have a slot machine permanently reserved in your name. To be freed up of any other gambler any time you choose to arrive at the casino! Wink

@Stormwatch,
I've been to Europe twice. Once during a two week high school trip to France. And later, I was stationed in Germany during my stint in the army.

You've tried and succeeded in making the infamously stoic Tower Guards to become distracted then start to giggle.

@Stormwatch,
I can honestly say these days, it had its moments. I can say now, now that it's been a while since I have been in the army that there are things I truly appreciate and actually enjoyed. But if you asked my then the same question to my lesser mature self, I would have looked as if you were a Stepford Wive or some kind of cult member. Enjoy myself? In the army? The early morning PT training. Etc.... Are you batty? I would impetuously reply. Then again, it could be sentimentality speaking, then actual memory.

You dread parent teacher meetings.

false, not a morning person. 7:30 or 8:00 meetings are too early for me.

You are not looking forward to the holidays because of your job situation.

@Stormwatch,
Partly true. The last 4 years, I would take my vacation and drive my best friend to Pittsburgh for Christmas while she visited her family. I would stay in a downtown Pittsburgh hotel and sight see. Occasionally have dinner over my friend's family home, then we would drive back to NYC. Not to going to happen this year ... or well ever ... my best friend died on mother's day. There was a thread on her death here on a2k. She was a former Abuzzer Eurodiva. Sad

You travel to see your family for the holidays.

true, my husbands family not mine

I'm very sorry about your friend. I can tell you do and will miss her greatly. Can I be nosey and ask...do you have family?

You find solace in your memories.

Family that's separated four directions to the wind. I'm the proverbial black sheep of that family. <<oy vey!>> I'm a tad cliched in that department.

True on the memories department. Especially since walking around the city is the best way to get where I need to go. Constantly reminded of her a lot.

You do most of the Christmas shopping and decorating.

@Stormwatch,
False. I rarely drink. I'm naturally melancholic without the depressing agents to help lower the mood. [Your sentiment is quite appreciated. Smile ]

You still have your alarm turned on to wake you up on the weekends/aka no sleeping in and such lovely benefits.
