I only kept a diary once in my life. Can't remember if it was on a daily basis. I was deployed in Saudi Arabia for the first Gulf War. Needless to say, the endeavor didn't last long. Weeks into the project, I ripped it up. Literally burned the whole thing and buried the ashes somewhere in the bloody desert. I'm not sure if I ever told anyone about that.
