Our A2K Francis will flirt
With ev-er-y-one in a skirt
He's a Frenchie, of course
So he'd flirt with a horse
As long as that filly was pert.

Lord Ellpus wrote, "The rules of cricket are quite simple really :-

"You have two sides: One out in the field and one in.
Each man that's in the side that's in goes out and when he's out he comes in and the next man goes in until he's out.
When they are all out the side that's out comes in and the side that's been in goes out and tries to get those coming in out.
Sometimes you get men still in and not out.
When both sides have been in and out including the not outs,
That's the end of the game." Shocked

Very many thanks, that is as clear as Mississippi mud. I'll go with your second suggestion - the bar at the end of the long room. But, no way am I wearing the red/yellow tie, I ask you, that would clash horribly with the mule skin jacket. Laughing

We celebrate 'Australia Day'*. I have always had a sneaking suspicion that the reason is to celebrate that we weren't colonised by the French. When the First Fleet woke up on their first day in this 'brave new world', the first thing they saw was a French flag on the ships of la Perouse, who had been sailing up from Tasmania.

This little factoid never enters into the equation. A pack of Brits arrived to make a new land. That they were almost all criminals and that the people sent to lord it over them were semi-criminal didn't make any difference. But they WEREN'T FRENCHMEN!! Saved from the horrors of those heavy, rich sauces and the croissant....

*If your idea of celebrate is to make it into a long weekend and pack in even more drinking and trying to get the Friday off as well so you can take your family up the coast to binge drink in different surroundings

Which, as everybody knows, make often slim girls and elegant men but this is not to compare to those semi-gods/goddesses of Ozzies...

Wanna a glass of wine?

Whilst I acknowledge Stillwater's run deep, I must cast a shadow of doubt on your reported sighting of a French ship outside of the Mediterranean coast. I say this because their navigation string will not reach that far.

I would suggest they were from Canada, seeking a safe sea passage to the States.

Zut! The French came to my little corner of the world in the person of Nicholas Baudin. We still maintain some areas named by Baudin. Certain gastronomiques wish that he had actually stuck around Very Happy

To paraphrase the legionaire, I would say: "Tiens, tiens, voilà du Baudin"
