Reporting Topics, Posts, and Private Messages

Did you know that if you see a post or thread that you think might violate Able2Know's Terms of Service, you can report it?

There is a little red arrow in the upper right corner of every post and private message (PM) that looks like this:

The Moderating Team cannot be everywhere at once, (and in the case of PMs might not be aware of the problem at all unless it is reported) and we very much appreciate being kept up to speed by the membership.

Frivolous reports will not be tolerated and will be subject to disciplinary action. Frivolous reportage can include but is not limited to:

-Reporting threads or posts as a means to "get" someone -Reporting threads or posts that are obviously well within the TOS -Reporting a large number of threads in a short time

Determination of whether reportage is frivolous is made at the sole discretion of the Able2Know.com Moderating Team.

That said, most any sincere reportage is very appreciated. We don't require that you make a determination as to whether a topic, post or PM violates the TOS before you report it -- if you think it's likely but you are not sure, go ahead and report it.

Note, we also prefer that you report rather than complaining about members who you think should be receiving sanction; TOS-violating compaints (use of vulgarities, etc.) will be pulled even if the target's name is not used (especially if it is otherwise obvious who is being referred to.)

Your report will usually be seen and addressed within a short time, depending on a number of factors including availability of Moderators and Administrators and how clear-cut the violation is. For example, a report of spam may be acted upon immediately while a disciplinary issue may take more time. (Click here for more details on how we handle disciplinary issues.)
