Making our own hand sanitiser using 99% isopropyl and 99% aloe Vera gel and weird precipitates formed, interesting but weird. More to the point we don’t have a gel . Its not viscous at all. It was 60% isopropyl and 40% aloe Vera. Any ideas? Want a gel. I’m not a chemist which is probably obvious.

@mizminh,
I would forget the aloe and go with the alcohol. Where are you getting the 99% alcohol, by the way? the best I've seen is 91%.

@mizminh,
its almost impossible to gget 99% alcohol. (90-91% is the best we can do via distilling without complex peroxy drying).

How about aloe vera with a bit of corn starch to mix with an abundance of Ethyl alcohol??

@mizminh,
Maybe substitute Everclear grain alcohol.
