Hello there! I need some help with the following riddle.
It might have been posted before, but I haven't found it.(the search function does not find it anyway)

Passing, I am not past,
Swift, and yet I'm last,
Once I'm gone and 'ere I've come
Can you tell me where I'm from?

My first thought was about time, or something time-related. It prooved fruitless so far.
Enlighten me pls!

I dunno if it appeared there. I am not a harry potter fan. I found it in a PC game. Actually it's a MOD (made by Jim Farris) for Dungeon Siege. It has a level with 15 riddles. I figured the first 7-8 of them, but I'm stuck on this one.
So I'd very much appreciate your help, as I can't go any further.

BTW: it's not supposed to be so difficult. The creator said it's a common word. Though I don't know what "common" means to him. He also said the 1st 2 lines are the definition, and the last 2 are supposed to ask the actual question.

Oh, no no no! I don't think the question asks what movie or book the first lines are from. It's something more generic; that every man could solve.

Sry guys, it was a hoax. The answer was supposed to be "No". I feel somehow cheated. Sorry to have bothered the ones that looked!

Still I have another one. From what I've heared it has something to do with Homer's biography. Here goes:

To the learned sage did the riddling fisherman say:
"What we caught, we threw away.
What we didn't catch, we kept."
And for lack of an answer, the wise man wept.

Hopefully someone will give me the answer soon.

Would the answer be "Nothing"?

They caught nothing - so threw nothing away - but also kept nothing!
