Too bad some of Bush's grace didn't include his time in office.

@edgarblythe,
W's betrayal of Scooter Libby was pretty shameful.

I don't like Carter's neonazi rants against Israel.

This coddling of Bush is a prime example of Democrats being soft and not keeping their eye on the prize.

I have great admiration for him. He's a selfless and charitable man who has extended himself to try and make the world a better place.

Just about dead opposite Trump, isn't he.

And which prize is that, exactly? That an ex-President went to a football game with a lesbian? No politics, just hot dogs & beer. I think you have way too much time on your hands.

That is probably why I have been criticized at one point for being left wing and another for being right wing.

I honestly get confused on who (political party that is) is even left or right wing. Maybe because I always get my right and left mixed up - but more likely because depending on the situation, the issue, I could be on "different" sides.

I tend to either like a person or not because of how they actually act in "real" life - day to day contact - not their political beliefs.

I'd give a good example - the abortion debate - I like people on both sides - I can see the point on either side; whether I agree or not. I do not like people though that go to extreme and say they are pro-life but yet they would not hesitate to threaten a doctor that performs abortions. However, if they calmly debate their point or protest (without violence) I can consider them a good person and like them.

And the opposite - if someone is pro-abortion but they threaten those that are pro-life and cause violence I am against those individuals, but if they peacefully protest or support abortion then I consider them a good person and like them.

@Linkat,
Some people never quit looking at life through political spectacles and are unwilling to remove them and look beyond the artificially imposed context of left and right.

I've seen a few expression of grudging respect on this site, no outright declarations of love.

Nobody is pro abortion. You really don't understand the issues.

Pro-choice (not pro-abortion) - sorry I was typing quickly - and it is childish to vote down because of that - especially concerning I am pro-choice.

But then makes sense as izzy is mad at me because sandy hook impacts me personally and so his child has to stand up for him to point out that it is upsetting to me because it impacts me personally whereas any reasonable person would be upset at that incident whether it hit them personally or not.

@Linkat,
We argued because you claimed that a system that killed upwards of 45,000 people pa due to neglect was just 'different' from one that treats everyone.

Linkat wrote:

shame on you for not considering the personal impact that something like a Shady Hook has impacted me.

Its impact must be enormous considering you can't even get the name right.

Where's your sympathy for the 45K+ killed by a "health" service that puts profits before people?

If you don't know the difference between left wing and right wing should you really be discussing politics?

There's a fact we should all keep in mind: A2K is not a Social Club, a Community, or a gathering of friendly, open-minded individuals.
