How much do we really know about pregnancy and succesfull birth?

Hi

Anyone remember this, where they showed pictures from orphanage in Asia and eastern Europe through out the 90's? How much do we really know and how we affect other people? Even in the United States of America and the UK etc. There's also a lot of diseases concerning pregnancy (also rape, abuse, drug abuse) and abortion/miscarriage.
