i know that some experiences are relatively more painfull than others, or more pleasurable, but say you eliminated the more pleasurable experience and just had the negative one, then relatively the negative one wouldn't be negative if you forgot the positive one existed. thus pain is only relative so if you have nothing to compare it to then it doesn't exist.

So you wish to remove pleasure so pain becomes good? The expressions are relative, but what they represent is not. Even if you chose the lesser of two evils, it is not automatically of the good because it is better than worst. This sort of manipulation has been know to be used in some sects and can have very unfortunate outcomes.

The ultimate "playingfield" for this is sexuality. That's where we feel pleasure and pain most keenly.
