"The minute hand on the clock face of St Stephen's Tower at the Palace of Westminster, central London, stopped moving at 2207 BST. "
It all adds up: exactly at 2207=2+2+0+7=11=1+1=2
Two, the symbol of PEACE.
Yeah but B=2,S=19 and T=20 and 20 -19 =1 and 7 times 2=14 and 20 times 7 =140 which divided by the product of 2 and 2=35 from which 19 is deducted to get 16 from which 1+2 is subtracted to give 13 which means you're in the ****.

Which one is in the ****? Wishful thinking for peace or its reality? Well either way, you sound like coming from the **** itself
Where else would this conversation take place.
Frankly, I think it's time we instituted an annual awards show--and I'm remembering this exchange with a nomination.
They have Oscars, Tonys, ...I guess our awards show will have to be named after a man.
The Freds? I don't know.
And, then we need to select the categories.
Best zinger. Most pretentious post. Best LOL inducer. Craziest exchange. Most unlikely exchange. So stupid it made me laugh post....
Please organize a committee.

Crazy enough: when read the news, it sounded like the Big Ben stopped to say "PEACE."
It sounded to me that Big Ben stopping might be a harbinger.
The cause of 'the glitch' is actually a mystery, it may be practical to consider Britain's 146 year old timepiece is no longer reliable. In 2000 emergency action was taken to stop Big Ben's tower toppling into Parliament Square, following engineering work on the 'Tube's Jubilee line' extension caused part of the foundations to sink. Only last year a steel shaft broke away from the mechanism, this resulted in a one ton counterweight falling down from the tower, the clock chimed non-stop for three minutes.
ITN & BBC now use pre-recorded chimes for their own broadcasts. Maybe it is time to do away with all that ancient machinery, replace it with a quartz and see what 'ever-ready' can come up with.
"Ever-ready" can always be relied upon to come up with something. It is almost a perfect Faustian battle-cry.
Alternatively a 'flash white turbo windmill' on top of Big Ben, you have enough of those contraptions in Yorkshire Spendius, why not lend them one? Or make a donation !
Most wisdom in least words Oscar.
I nominate EM.

But boldly nominate a spade a spade.
