You will have to be a bit more specific... I assume you are Christian, but what sect are you from? What do you want to say? Do you appreciate irony or are you looking for spirituality?

If it were me I would pick something from Ecclesiastes (one of my favorite books.)

Quote:

I devoted myself to study and to explore by wisdom all that is done under heaven. What a heavy burden God has laid on men! I have seen all the things that are done under the sun; all of them are meaningless, a chasing after the wind.

What is twisted cannot be straightened;
what is lacking cannot be counted.

I thought to myself, "Look, I have grown and increased in wisdom more than anyone who has ruled over Jerusalem before me; I have experienced much of wisdom and knowledge." Then I applied myself to the understanding of wisdom, and also of madness and folly, but I learned that this, too, is a chasing after the wind.

For with much wisdom comes much sorrow;
the more knowledge, the more grief.

(Ecclesiastes 1)

Re
I'm a non-demoninational christian....
I'm not exactly sure what I want to say.....that's why I was asking for some suggestions....whatever you think would be appropriate, not looking for irony, more spiritual. And if possible, shorter, I'm not looking to put a whole page, just something short to put on the back.

There is no such thing as a non-denominational Christian. There are several groups that refer to themselves this way, but they all have quite specific beliefs, doctrine and practices (and a couple even condemn each other), but I digress.

How about something relevant to today? I assume if you are graduating you want to make a statement that will make a difference in the world.

From the Sermon on the Mount, you could try

Quote:

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God.

(Matt 5)

or

Quote:

Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. ... Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

(Matt 5)

James is another one of my favorite books, I would consider something like this...

(this touches both wisdom (i.e. education) and the peace theme which is so important these days).

Quote:

Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show it by his good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom. ....

But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere.

Peacemakers who sow in peace raise a harvest of righteousness.

(Jas 3)

or this one which was always another one of my favorites. This is relevant for a religious person who has achieved an education.

Quote:

If anyone considers himself religious and yet does not keep a tight rein on his tongue, he deceives himself and his religion is worthless. Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.

(Jas 1)

Jeremiah 29:11ff
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans to give you hope and a future . . ."

I Cor. 15:58
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.

Here are a couple of good short ones... from two different translations of the Bible. I gave you the citations and context.

1 John 3:18 NRSV

http://bible.oremus.org/?passage=1+John+3:16-24&vnum=yes&version=nrsv

(Little Children) Let us love, not in word or speech, but in truth and action.

John 3:21 KJV

(But) Whoever lives the truth comes to the light, (so that his works may be clearly seen as done in God.)
