If the world was completely void of religion and it was common fact that there was no God, what would happen? Would chaos ensue? Would peace ensue?

Neither - there would still be periods of wars, there would still be periods of order.

People who would have been atheists will go about their business, if they were kind, they would continue to be so.
People who would have believed in God would go about their business, if they were kind, they would continue to be so.

People who would have been sanctimonious A**holes would have to have something else to use as an excuse to force their opinions down other people throats.

People would continue to love their children and try to do their best by them.

Then why do people blame religion for our problems?

I couldn't say - I sure don't.

Can you be more specific please thunder? Examples?

What people & which problems?

Hmmm. Are you talking about relegion, or God?

For instance, the Spanish Inquisition, that was caused by people in a relegion who just SAID they were doing it in the name of God.
If there was no religion, these same people would have found some other excuse for torturing people to death.
On the other hand, I've heard people say they were angry with God because someone died. Even if that person was 98 years old.
Everyone dies. These people who say they are angry at God, they need to be finding out for themselves what they are really angry at.

Again, these people would act the same, God, religion or no.

Because it divides people

People would still be people, with all of the biological drives that lead to conflict as well as the ones that enable us to live together in societies.

We would still have laws, customs and rules to guide our behavior. There just would be no bogeyman or threat of heaven/hell to coerce people into obedience to the rules their fellow men decided they should follow.

The two statements "world completely void of religion" and "common fact that there was no God" are not equivalent. There are some religions that do not worship god(s). Confucianism is generally viewed as a religion but it isn't centered around a god. Neither is Budhism. Confucianism has been the major religion and philosophy in China for the last two thousand years. In terms of peace and chaos, I don't see much difference between China and other parts of the world. Similarly, countries practising Budhism (e.g. Burma and Thailand) experience the same war and peace.

I think the very first thing that would happen is that some people would decide that there actually was a god (one that cannot be proved to exist or not) and some people would decide that religion was necessary too, and still others would claim to have been spoken to directly or at least to have been guided by a god. Back to normal in no time !

Firstly a completely secular world would actually mean that there would be no governments influenced by religion and that there would be complete and total searation of church and state throughout the world.

(Although you wouldn't think of it, the way some so-called secularists behave).

What you're thinking of, I presumse, is a completely atheist world.

There is something, scientists are finding, called the God gene. It is something that increases belief things.

Some of these people do not believe in God, but they believe in other improbable things like aliens visiting our Earth.

If religion was destroyed completely, alien cults would start to appear to replace the old religions. Soon, they will end up just like the old religions.

A world without religion? Nay sir that's Heaven. That's where we go when we leave this world.

What about a world that had no religion, but we were totally aware of God and his expectations of us? Would people still rebel?
