littlek - thanks for your link!

I rarely look at horoscopes but there have been a fair number in my life that were "right on the money". When I looked at your link, I read mine, for Virgo and was MOST gratified! Yeah!
Laughing

I had previously kept a clipping of one for this month that I picked up in Iowa City last week. Those who know me well will be interested. When you read this first one, you'd know why I was also happy to have the new one through little k:

Quote:
Stars Over Iowa City, Forcast for March 2003, by Dr. Star
From Little Village, Iowa City alternative monthly newspaper

Virgo (August 23 - Sept 22)

You'd think with all the hurdles Virgos have had to clear, they'd be due for easier times. But Virgos are going to be in the middle of the next big battle, too. This time, though, they won't have to worry about where the rent is coming from while they fight. As Virgos launch into their next big campaign, Jupiter will launch a new cycle of prosperity. Also, previously when Virgos looked back, they saw only bridges burning behind them: this time, they will see the results of their efforts.

Horoscopes are linked with the Solar motion.
(On March 14, the solar longitude will be 353.5. .. 6.5 degrees to the point of vernal equinox.)

The sun is in Pisces now.
(A few days ago it was in Aquarius according to my celestial map.)

The vernal equinox has been in Pisces these two thousand years.

Spring is to come.

The vernal equinox moved from Aries to Pisces around 80~70 B.C.E.
It will take more than twenty thousand years for the vernal equinox to return to Aries.

Even though the position of the vernal equinox has been changing along the ecliptic, the spatial relation of stars have not varied in a significant way throughout the history of humans.

The variation in the point of the vernal equinox is mainly caused by "precession" of the rotational axis of the Earth.

A reference is, for example, chapter 21 of

"Astronomical Algorithms" (2nd ed.) by Meeus, J., Willmann-Bell, Inc., 1998.

I will search a suitable website for the notion of "precession."

The rotating earth is similar to a spinning top. Here is a link.

littlek, I've had my chart read twice. The first time was by a woman in RI who did a really fine job at pinpointing some of the events that were looming over the horizon. She was also quite capable at looking at some of the past alignments and figuring out what was going on. The second reading was done recently, from someone else, and it was a bit of a disappointment.

I've always been a fan of the horoscopes in the back of TV guide, which I read while waiting in the checkout line of the supermarket.

Gala - I had my scope done up once. She was good too, but not good enough to have it done again. I have actually written up scopes for my friends. Loooooots of math.

Satt - but why did it go from aquarius to pisces this last change, but it went from Aries to Pisces (the complete opposite direction) the in the change at the begining of the BCE (or is that the end of the BCE?)?
