Which metaphor do you think someone would choose if he or she was a villager in India, a single mother in sub-Saharan Africa, a Palestinian refugee, a Chicago banker, or a homeless child in Brazil? What effect might their view of the world have on the way our future turns out?

Which metaphor most closely represents your own personal view of the future? What positive aspect might there be of holding this metaphor? What negative aspect might there be of holding this metaphor?

...That first paragraph is beyond me. As for the second, are you lookig for something like this:
