Facebook started censoring my posts, so I quit

In their zeal to atone for past errors, Facebook seems to be going to certain extremist measures. Unfortunately, many innocents end up being wrongly penalized. Much the same is true with Twitter.

Sorry this happened to you. It does though reinforce my desire to never be a part of either of these sites.

I had the opposite situation: so few people were posting things that I wanted to read that there was no point in going there at all.

This is truly unlikely.

What exactly happened -- and I mean exactly. Maybe you hit a character limit. Maybe your browser crashed. Maybe something timed out. Or maybe you were in 'Facebook jail' for a day. Happens to lots and lots of people.

People are sometimes put into 'Facebook jail' based on images which an FB bot sees as being pornographic, but a timeout like that based on written content is highly likely to be from complaints. From people, not Facebook.

This is a social media platform which has only now banned Alex Jones. They are s....l....o....w to act and I am 1000% certain you're not on their radar as any sort of threat.

It was about my opinion about religion vs science. I saw nothing wrong with my opinions. They locked me out after I posted those opinions. I'm intolerant of censorship in any form in an open society. We don't need censor police in this country. I did not use any expletives.

How did they "lock you out"? Could you post, not post, something else?

Like I said before, Facebook jail is much more likely to happen if a person reported you. Facebook itself won't do that unless you are a big, big macher, as in Alex Jones, someone with a ton of followers who is actively spreading truly awful stuff.

You are, and were, doing neither.

It is far, far more likely that someone on your friends list (maybe) reported you.

Facebook said they will send me a code, but never did. I'm locked out, and cannot post anything on facebook.

I can't figure out what they would report me on.

Why shouldn't Alex Jones be allowed to express his ideas in a country that has the first amendment?

Also, if Facebook needed to ban "conspiracy theorists", then why don't they ban all the big names who have endorsed and pushed the (now proven) Russia conspiracy hoax?

Facebook, like all other big tech companies are Marxist. Censorship is the name of the game.

This sounds a helluva lot more like a password reset than anything else.

jespah is correct that what you're describing happened because someone reported you.

But facebook only selectively will put people in facebook jail based on reports. If, for instance, you report someone for saying something like "Teach men not to rape. All men are rapists!" or "White people are the most evil people in society.", facebook will leave those up.

But if you post something like "9/11/2001, Never forget.", and some deranged leftist takes that as being "islamophobic", your account can get suspended with no chance for appeal.

It happens all the time. It happened to me.

You must have posted something that one of your friends thought was right leaning or in some way did not blindly accept the progressive narrative.

It doesn't matter, because facebook locked me out.

The way facebook selectively applies their rules is astounding. I'm willing to bet you could post "Kill all white people!" and not have it removed.

I would just like to know from those giving posters thumb's down, why they are against their opinions? Facebook said they'll send me a code, and never did. That tells me more than I need to know about their fascist control system; it's not democratic. Those working at facebook needs to look very hard into their "control system policies." Religion and politics should be an open book; not censored.
