I'm nearly certain this is not what you have in mind but I think "moon" works.

It was created before Adam in the Bible and each "moon" does not survive a fifth week.

Serious? I was sure that was wrong. I just separated out the second part and the moon was the first "dual use" "riddle word" that came to mind. I didn't think it was right.

Nah, found it. I only tend to post riddles I've found that don't have an answer listed. That of course means we could both be wrong...

My own riddles aren't good enough to post as yet. One of these days I'll come up with a good one.
