There are three light switches up in the attic of an old house... They control three light bulbs down in the basement. The problem is that you don't know which switch is connected to which bulb. You can make one trip down to the basement to figure this out.
How are you going to do it?
Turn two of the switchs on, wait for a minute or two then switch one of them off. Now go down into the basement. The switch you left on controls the light which is on. The switch you switched on then off controls the light which is warm to the touch. The switch you didn't touch controls the light which is cool to the touch.
