That's for sure! It's much cheaper in Germany; all future Europe Gatherings should be in Germany. LOL Food is much better too. It's much more enjoyable when one doesn't need to worry about how much 'everything' costs, and can relax to enjoy the sites and food. The only problem is that their keyboard in Germany switched the 'y' and 'Z' key.

German (and Swiss/Austrian) keyboards have the "QWERTZ"-layout, as opposed to the English "QWERTY" layout. (And the at-sign goes with the 'Q'):

Do you use the letter "Z" more than "Y" in German, Walter?

yes McTag

I know all about Hochdruckreinigers.

I've found it a most useful word. Whenever I meet someone speaking German, I say the magic word hochdruc....

and we get on very well.

For some reason I seem to have accummulated rather a large stock of high pressure water pumps in my garage, you dont want to buy one by any chance?

Only in months which contain the letter "r" . . .

Correct, because in those months we usually eat mussels - it is said that they taste best then, zuper.

(That saying about mussels, however, is true.)

Poor Francis will have a hard time getting back to his
pictures after all the talk about Hochdruckreiniger.

Tarah, yes, the German language is full of "Z" and very
little "Y", whereas German garages are apparently full
of Hochdruckreinigers (I'm American now, I don't need
to be Frau Saubermann) Mr. Green

Good lord! Germany is brutally expensive in comparison to Canada. Have future Europe gatherings in Montreal - the cost of the flights will be more than made up by the savings in accommodations and meals.

Where's Canada? I can't seem to find it on my map. LOL ehBeth, You can plan the America's Gathering in Canada a year or two from now. I'm sure it can be successful.

I'd just like to point out that London is the most expensive place in Britain, and they pay £8 for a pint of beer, when everyone up here pays about 68p. And that is a fact. Come up north! It's colder, wetter, cheaper and more spacious than London.

Clarey may plan a Europe Gathering up her way where prices are also much more reasonable. We'll have to wait for her posting.

If it's less expensive in Paris, we can do another duel deal like the one we just had in London and Lippstadt. Wink Sounds do-able to me!
