I just heard this trance song by Paul Oakenfold. Struck a chord. Opinion of this philosophy/religion?:
GameMaster
Embracing the goddess energy within yourselves..
will bring all of you to a new understanding and value of life.
A vision that inspires you to live and love on planet earth.
Like a priceless jewel..
buried in dark layers of soil and stone.
Earth radiates her brilliant beauty..
into the caverns of space and time.
Perhaps your are aware of those who watch over your home.
And experience it as a place to visit and play with reality.
You are becoming aware of yourself as a game master.
Imagine earth restored to her regal beauty.
Stately trees seem to brush the deep blue sky.
Clouds billow to form majestic peaks.
The songs of birds fill the air..
creating symphony upon symphony..
The goddess is calling for..
and honoring..
of what she allows to be created..
from the core-mystery of the blood.
Those who own her planet are learning about love.
i think it's "...understanding and valuing of life" - someone pointed it out to me and i think they're probably right, although i always used to think it was 'value' as well.
i know it's "...restored to her real beauty", "the goddess is calling for an honoring of what she allows to be created through the core mystery of the blood", "those who own the planet..."
or at least the version i have (from off the tranceport cd) says the above.
to your question, i believe it's wiccan or similar to wiccan beliefs mixed with something more etherial/universal. depends on how you take some of the words. as to my particular opinion i think it's nice to think that things could actually be that way. that people can transcend their earthly forms or be part of something greater than just what things look like on the surface. as to whether i believe that this is so, well... like i say, i'd like to think things could be that way. makes for good book-writing. check out a really old (sci-fi?) book called "forever man".
i always wondered whether oakenfold wrote those lyrics or if the woman's voice is a clip from something else (like many techo songs have a clip from things like sci-fi movies in them). i'd check my cd case to see if there's any credit or mention anywhere (tho i doubt there is) but it was demolished years ago.
That's one of my favourite trance tunes actually. Musically of course, I don't care much for the lyrics, even though they sound good and fit well into the tune.

Well, see...we do agree on some things!
