Why No Forum for Suggestions?

I titled this thread as such just because it didn't feel quite right to post what I wanted to say in this forum. That being said ...

1. Is it asking too much to have a couple of different skins for the board? This default phpBB skin is totally lame (imo), and there are some nice alternatives that are free to download.

2. We need more Emoticons.

3. (Which was the MAIN thing I wanted to bring up but forgot until now) Is there a way to change the number of posts that appear on each page? If not, I think the number should be increased to 15 or 20. Ten posts per page, especially if the posts are short - one-liners and such - gets a little tedius when the thread is 5 or more pages.

This is not the default phpbb skin, and the free skins out there are not ready to use out of the box as this is a heavily modified forum.

We used to have alternate skins but they were removed pending a site redesign.

When the new design is made, it will be made in different colour schemes and available as alternate skins.

Why are they "needed"? You can simply use the image tags to use the millions of emoticons out on the net. What you might like will not be what everyone else might like and since this isn't a script-kiddie's board we're not going to add too many emoticons just to try to get everyone's tastes covered.

There's a thread around where you can lobby for the emoticons you want, but avoiding overkill will be a far greater consideration than getting every single "OMG WTF" emoticon variant.

At present, no. There used to be one but the code was buggy and despite my help the mod author wasn't really interested in fixing it. Since I didn't have time for it I removed the buggy code.

This is a feature that I'd like to eventually add, but not one that is in any way critical and as such is going to defer to more critical maintenance work.

Uh ... okay. Let's just say I downloaded a phpbb board a couple years ago and this was the default skin at that time. Regardless, this certainly isn't about "Do this ; Do that!" I just thought perhaps I spoke for more than a few people when I said some new skins for the board would be nice.

The board's Emoticons are circuit 2001. If you're okay with that, then so am I. It's a suggestion insofar as most every other board on the net has a bigger selection, that's all I'm saying.

Nietzsche- As a fairly new member, I don't think that you have the slightest idea of the work that Craven has done to streamline A2K. Considering that the technical work on A2K is practically a "one man show", it is far more varied and effective than many sites that have big bucks backing it.
