its sad that the Pope John Paul 2 has passed away...but now can who will be his successor, my question is, can we have a Female pope..if no, why
if yes then in the past have we had any female pope,
Nope. No Way!. Absolutely not!
The pope is the leader of a large church with a billion people. He is responsible for making possibly controversial decisions with strength and certainty.
The pope also is Gods emmisary-- he speaks for God. This is clearly a position that requires the highest level of integrity and holiness.
There can be no female pope.
Rumor has it that there already was a woman pope - Pope John VIII - aka Pope Joan.
Yeah, there is that legend... but do you know what supposedly happened to this blasphemy
Quote:
According to most versions, spectators watched in horror as the pope, trying to mount a horse, went into labor and gave birth to a son. Moments later, some reports said, the crowd tied her feet to the horse's tail, then stoned her to death as she was dragged along a street.
During the reformation, Protestent reformers revived this rumor as a way to deride the Catholic church on this shameful event.
There is a chair in the Vatican that has no bottom. It was allegedly used to check the maleness of a candidate pope so this horror would never, ever happen again.

Thankyou, I forget from time to time how sick religious people can get.

It's said cardinals after checking this, will announce, in Italian, "aveve due, bene pendente" which means : "he has two, well hung"
