Is it possible that notifications show as read when I haven't read them?

There are several read notifications on my notification list that I definitely have not clicked on. I am wondering why this is.

is this the app? mobile? computer?

FB notifications seem to behave differently, depending on how you access them.

lately, i've noticed that the app has been erratic...

This is all across facebook both in the mobile app and on computer, the notification list is the same across devices.

my issue with the app this week was clicking a notification and then clicking a second,
unrelated notification that took me to the location of the first notification.

i had to go to a computer to get the notifications to display properly...
