Dunno for sure with an iPod - prolly in the user manual - but a common hard-reset procedure for electronics is to remove power (unplug/take out natteries), hold the power swithch down for about 1 minute, then leave the device unpowered (not plugged in, no batteries installed) for a good while. I favor 12 hours at least, but anywhere from a few minutes on up might work. When you figure its been long enough, plug it in and/or replace the batteries with known, good, fresh ones, and power the puppy back on. If the puppy has non-replaceable batteries, power it on and let it sit for at least an hour or longer after it dies on its own (again, I'd go for 12) before reconnectin' to power and turnin' it back on.
here it is from the ipod mini manual:
To reset iPod mini:
1 Connect iPod mini to a power outlet using the iPod Power Adapter.
2 Toggle the Hold switch on and off (set it to Hold, then turn it off again).
3 Press and hold the Menu and Select buttons for at least 6 seconds, until the
Apple logo appears.
If it were my toy, I'd try that, then follow up with the hard reset.
Bri:
Your alarm is still set to on. Goto clock: alarm set: off.
These damn things seem to be everywhere. I might have to go out and buy one soon...crap.
I have an iPod mini and I love it. I also have the Aqua Teen Hunger Force theme song on it.
I like mine. I've had it almost a year with no problems. Only thing to be careful about is the battery. Mine's starting to loose life.
