Message board spam like this abuses the site's resources and when done for the purpose of PM access it results in manual removal of PM access.
i.e. when you hit the automatic restriction's criteria (it's not 500 and not just post count related) you still won't be able to send PMs due to the manual removal of access.
Continuing to do this will result in access to the site being suspended as well.
