I guess that sounded like a shut off. I am not really closed to talking about me, but skittish and not wanting to attract attention re nitty gritty. None of which is appropriate for the no lerve no flirt thread.

So..... leaping into non lerve nonflirt mode...

Osso and her corg do a quiet woof.

grrrrr....

<shakes rope in teeth>

The question of what separates humankind from the animals has long been contested by those with the hubris to make the distinction, and most categories have been found, if not wanting, at least not as clear-cut as the anthrocentrists would like to think. Certainly, language, tool use, rape, murder, and warfare do not distinguish Homo sapiens as much as some would like to think. But I think I have found one behavior that is uniquely human. For surely only man (and perhaps woman) can appreciate the Whoopie Cushion...

(The post before my connection crapped out was better, I swear.)

Hmmmm - that (whoopee cushion) and something else odd which I have forgotten for now.

By gum - I think we have a digression thread!

That's a little too divergent for my reeling morning mind....

I'll try again later.

But I did get the Shakespeare reference, thank god ....

Meanwhile, here is some light entertainment I picked up while looking for a particular james Thurber cartoon:

Yahoo! I was thinking about digression threads this morning. I'm currently reading through Digresson 10, saved on my work computer, for a rainy day (well, it's not raining, but it is quiet!). This is where Pyewhackett by assorted names is very active, with yarns and verses, and there was some discussion about the pope's hat, which Merry Andrew thought was called a biretta - and why would he wear a small motor scooter on his head, when it would be more convenient to wear the pope-mobile, and it's better than a Harley, anyway - and just what is a leotard??

Some brilliant lines there!

Yeh, I saved ten too, and a few others, but I think it was you, girl, who saved the bunch and shared with me. Those threads are treasure chests.

Try as I might, I sometimes still mix up msolga and margo. I am just going to have to meet you two and get over it. But one of you helped me out on saving digression threads.

I was but telling Osso you were the digression thread helper.

And - we had but to say the damn thread might be a digression thread to kill it in its tracks.

Anyhoo - I can't digress for toffee - I am too tired...

Would anyone care for one?

Care for one, I would not. I wouldn't know what to feed it, or when it likes to sleep.

Eat one, I would.
