...it's also to give rank stupidity a vocabulary - a semantic by which to measure and incorporate paradoxes - and a purpose (telos) to grant its raison d'etre. Popes used to do that; if philosophy had one it would make it more "official".

I think you mean:

"To sound like Yoda, the point of philosophy is."

Philosophy is worthless if it does not cure the mental ills of man, just like medicine is worthless if it does not cure the bolify ills of man.

This is Epicurus, Epictetus and Aristotle's definitions - but I think that they are correct.

I think many abuse philosophy as some sort of penis measuring plan - but I think they are wrong.

I see no goal in philosophy.

Since I am here, since I exist, I try to understand something about it. And that gives me pleasure.

But, if there is a goal, it is the pleasure of looking for the right questions.

Yes, it's as simple as that. And that's the way I practice my religion as well. I look at the world, then I take my blue pen and render it to my canvas. It's philosophy. Then I take the red pen and render the world with it on my canvas. It's religion. My colors wash away over time, so I have to refresh constantly.

I have this idea that I want to live my life as if it were a piece of art, by an unknown artist. Why do I say this? Because I believe that you can tell everything about the artist from studying his art.
