I am a very skeptic agnostic, but I do relate very strongly to a deity; her name is Kuanshih Yin. She's the Buddhist goddess of compassion, a bodhisattva, a being who has refused nirvana and stayed on Earth in order to alleviate human suffering.

Quan Yin, as she is also known is said be free of pride or vengefulness, and loves every life, no matter what.

Anyone has a smilar deity that they can relate to this way?

I have always taken comfort in the constellation Orion.

I particularly like the lack of demands this sky deity makes, and the fact that He is easy to locate when I need Him.

Orion's belt has always fascinated me Greyfan. Orion is one of my favorite constellations altogether.

I'm with Greyfan on this. Nothing like the stars of Orion on a cold clear night to remind you of the subtle grandeur quietly hiding behind the mundane lights of daily life.

I'm with Greyfan & Rosbourne. Orion is always the first thing my eyes search for in the night sky.

I've always thought that I could feel comfortable with one of the small goddesses--a deity who could manage an acre or so of land and a household with ramifications.

Lares and penates make sense to me.
