When I left school I was waiting to get into the police force here and I worked as an electrician's helper. I only got electrocuted once but that was enough for me and I was pretty happy when I joined the police (it's safer). I've been doing that now for 35 years (excluding 2.5 years full time training). But I've done a lot of different things in the job as it offers a pretty varied career.

I was also a full time elected official with my union for several years.

I've been teaching part time at a vocational institute for several years as well, teaching in the area of justice studies.

I'm going to plead youth here for my inexperience and scanty resume. For the record, I feel inadequate relative to everyone else. Smile

In the last few years (I left high school in 1999), I have worked for (in paid and voluntary positions):
- various tennis associations for IT-related activities
- a migrant resource centre
- a legal aid clinic
- a tiny ballet studio
- a tutor at uni
- a pharmacy

Currently, I am employed with an IT company and studying law. And hopefully look forward to these (the pipe dreams of an optimist!):
- internship at the UN HQ
- law professor
- international human rights lawyer
- opening my own restaurant! Wink
