Upper limits = 4 Lower limits = 2

x^2 over (x-3)(x+1) dx


Use partial fractions approach

This is the problem I solved before with the unknown factor d. Now you say d is +1.

x^2/[(x-3)(x+1)]=3x/[4(x-3)]+x/[4(x+1)]=(3/4)x/(x-3)+(1/4)x/(x+1)

you integrate each of the partial fractions separately between the limits of integration.

Remember to take all constants outside the integral. If necessary, look up the general form of the integrals in the appendix of your calcalus book.
