Re: Can Anyone Solve This? I've Been Trying And I Still Can'

If Taylor is 4 months older than Stephanie, how many months old is Anna?
I added visuals because I find they help.

Recording the above statements in algebraic statements:
La = Ta + St
Ma = 2Ta
Ma= St + La
An = .6 (La + Ta +St +Ma + An)
Ta = St + 4 mo
Now, doing a few computations:
Ma = St + La = St + Ta + St = 2St + Ta = 3St + 4 mo = 2Ta = 2(St + 4 mo)
Rearranging this last, 3St + 4 mo = 2St + 8 mo
Subtracting 2St from both sides:
St + 4 mo = 8 mo
St = 4 mo
Ta = St + 4 mo = 8 mo
Ma = 2Ta = 16 mo
La = Ta + St = 12 mo
An = .6(12 mo + 8 mo + 4 mo + 16 Mo + An)
.4 An = .6(40 mo) = 24 mo
An = 60 mo
