There's a certain timelessness about black and white photos. Very nice pic, shewolf.

Here are three from this past glorious week at the beach.

I am a early riser and these are what I get when I aim at Palm Zire in the dim light.

1rst of May, a public holiday, traditonally not only "Labour Day" here in Europe but also the start of the "spring season" here in Germany.

But nature is two to three weeks back here.

Some pics just taken in our park here, one minute from our apartment, with the maypole:

The wheeel is the upper half of an old headgear wheel:
about 110 years, they wanted to get coal here, but found those warm, salty, thermal sources instead.
And in reminiscence of that, they got this from a coal mine in the 50's ...

Nice colors.
(Are there shown methods of roping in the frame at the center?
I believe roping is of tactile nature rather than visual, BTW.)

Well I've just revisited this thread after a period of absence, and the photos recently are very fine indeed. Full of interest.

Congratulations on the new camera, Walter, and happy snapping in the New World.

My prunus Kanzan is now in full flower, so I must take a pic.

We would call that rope display board a display of knots and splices.

Knots and knotting.

Apart from the naming of the board, I can knot the bowline anytime in the dark. Laughing
