I, too, will have to give credit to the mother.
My daughter is also part Italian (from her mother's side of the family).
Both of my parents were born in Germany, close to where Walter lives. My mother was a teacher at a Catholic orphanage and my father was a seminary student. (My father, of course, decided to drop out of the seminary.)
When I saw Bear's post I thought it was sozobe complimenting my daughter.
