[ANSWERED] A2K problems - Is it my computer or A2K?

A2K has been very slow at times, over the last couple of days, & when I've attempted to post, a number of times I've gotten this:

phpBB : Critical Error

Could not connect to the database

Is it just my computer, my ISP, or is anyone else having this problem?

I've had trouble today also. I have had to come in through my topic reply notification. But my computer is acting up in other ways.

It's hard to tell what the main problem is.

A2K was slow this morning, has seemed fine most of the day (when I was on) and now is acting a little weird again.

Ahhh, that's good to know. Thanks. Very Happy I was seriously wondering if it was my ISP.

Same thing happening here. I think Panzade is right, The ship can't take much more of this.

Craven, Let us know what we can do for you.

Been erratic for a while now - some days good, some sorta quirky. Its due, I think, to the sheer size of the database - there are well over a million posts, and at times there are literally hundreds of folks viewin' the site. That's a helluva load. Anyhow, yeah, the site gets wonky once in a while - slow to load page sometimes, "Critical Errors" other times - all sortsa wierdness. Its a general headache. There's a related discussion HERE.

Thanks, timber. I'd already been to that thread but didn't connect the problems I was experiencing with A2K over-load.

A2K has now reached a critical point and the combined mass of its posts and the egos that produce them have created a space-time anomoly known as a 'block-hole' (literally a 'hole' lot of block-heads).

Your computer is now unable to send electrical impulses against the massive gravitational pull of the posts registered by Deb and Cicerone Imposter.

Soon, you can expect your computer to glow and overheat, eventually...

Exploding and destroying most of the Milky Way in the process. Happy?

And no, your ISP won't refund you any leftover credit on your account.

Unfortunately, vivid colorful discussion contributes to the problem.

A2K--struggling with genius.
