What I was getting at about style is that it is a long term concept, a way of being yourself expressed through choices of haircut, bla bla bla, not in response to trends, but based on decisions that achieve a kind of coherence over time.
It is not quite the opposite of trendy, but doesn't stick to the trendy.

Yeah Soz thats pretty much it. Good take on it.

Me, I kinda slid down past any of those categories, alas ... When I was 15 or 20, I wasnt hip I was alternative - dressed in black and/or torn clothes. When I got into, like, club culture after all, I was really already a little too old. And now that I'm the age for the loungy, ironically retro and/or playfully stylish stuff, I dont quite have the money to pull it off ... yes, I did get myself the coolest of Boss pants (pinstripe but with a cute, upright cloth ridge where the crease would be and a pair of sleek, narrow buckles on the left and right where your belt loops would be, which you can use to tighten/loosen 'em) - but yes, I could only afford them because they were on sale and I dont have much like that. I love my complicated Dexter Wong pants and the Betty Bund ones I bought in Prenzlberg with the skirt-like wrap-over -- but they're severely worn now, I had the Wong ones repaired a couple of times (you cant see from the outside, tho).

<sighs, drama queen gesture>

It was amusing to discuss something different from gay marriage or something for a change ... Very Happy. Of course, if I hadnt had to pack all of A.s stuff today, I wouldnt have went down that path of procrastination, and if she hadnt then left a message that she didnt need her stuff packed after all, I wouldnt have stayed on ... either way I probly should have done something else ... and I had so been getting my posts-per-day average down, and everything! ;-)

Okay, let's continue....(I'm as tenacious as a pitbull)

I mean, "cutting edge" what? We talking haute couture, the latest fashion in affluent style or hip urban culture?

Actually, it all started out with the proverbial hair (in the soup),
and chunky highlightes. Everything else became a show-off Mr. Green

When was the last time you were in Germany, btw? Munich is a city I've never been to - and I wasnt in Hamburg or Bremen either. Just Berlin, Hannover, Osnabruck, Cologne, Bonn, Frankfurt, Wiesbaden, Mainz, Nurnberg, Dresden ... it's a charming country, but I cant imagine living anywhere but Berlin until I'm a little older.
What did you think of the Toni + Guy stuff? They've got shops in A'dam and R'dam, too, look real fancy. But it is a chain, they got shops in about every UK town I think ...

I go every year to Europe, and last I was in Munich, CH and
northern Italy. Munich is quite unique and unfortunately very
expensive, thus not everyone can live there.

I did like some of the Toni + Guy stuff, especially the cuts
for brunettes (naturally).

(This must have been the silliest discussion I got myself into here, like, ever!

Yes, and you did it all by yourself http://www.borge.diesal.de/schiel.gif

I think this is not the first time you and I have bang heads
and usually I try to stay out of your way, however, here you
came into the existing conversation......

So uh... back to my hair? Laughing

I just got back and to me, in the pic... it looks exactly the same. However, I can visually see it's a LOT darker, and there's less of the caramel color.

We set out a plan.

April, I need one more trim
2nd week in May, I need to get it re-highlighted before my wedding at the end of the month. She said she can get more of the caramel out next time.
This was based on how fast she thought my hair (roots) were growing.
