Hi all,
My name is Summer, I am 24 years of age. I lived in Sydney for approx 8 years coming back and forth from Scotland. My mother 52yrs who now lives in Scotland too, would also like to come back. She immigrated to Sydney when she was 2 from Malta, stayed until she was 27, where she married my dad (scottish) and gave birth to my brother (Australian), my brother now lives in Scotland also.
My mother's mother, her 3 brothers, 1 sister, countless neices and nephews, all live in Sydney and have never left since the first immigration in 1954.
My question is do you think we have a good chance in immigrating back to Sydney? The only reason we kept coming back to Scotland was because my dad was always homesick. My father passed away last year, and we don't have hardly any family here anymore. I really want to come back so I can start my new life with my extended family and have a family of my own someday. The way of life is just so much better there than it is here. My brother would like to stay at the moment in Scotland, he is getting married here.
However I am getting married at the end of the year, and my fiance wants to come and live there too.
I am currently a Nursing Student, 1st yr, but am so anxious to come back to Sydney, I've considered studying my final year in Sydney, so I can get a feel of Nursing in Australia. What do all you guys think? Does my mother and myself stand a good chance?
Looking to apply Jan 2006.
Sorry to ramble on a bit, just want some advice before I take the plunge.
Thanks
Summer
