Do stamps expire?
@gabjones13,
What kind of stamps, and issued by whom. US first class stamps marked 'forever' are more or less forever. Other stamps may require additional postage as rates increase.
That's if you were talking about postage stamps issued by the United States Post Office.
A postage stamp is actually a receipt for postage which has been paid. They are good always. Postage rates can increase, but a ten cent stamp shows that you have paid ten cents for postage. You might need a considerable number of ten cent stamps, however.

By the inevitable heat death of the universe, technically EVERYTHING matter-wise will have expired....

When the Roman Empire
expired (for a lack of a better word), did their version of postage stamps expire?
@gabjones13,
If a country ceases to exist, it's stamps lose, value, all value...
...except of course to philatelists.
In Britain, stamps for certain purposes - 1st class letter up to 100g, 2nd class letter up to 100g, parcel up to 250g, 500g, 1000g are marked thus (not by price) and when there is going to be a price increase people rush to buy them because they never expire and are always good for the purpose stated.

In one of his books, Terry Pratchett referred to his stamps as a one cent promissory note. I believe the book was "Going Postal".
@centrox,
We have the same thing in Canada
https://www.canadapost.ca/web/en/kb/details.page?article=what_are_permanent_s&cattype=kb&cat=sending&subcat=
Quote:The PERMANENTâ„¢ stamp, identified with the letter P in place of a value, is always accepted at the current domestic postage price. If you buy a PERMANENT stamp today, you can use it anytime in the future.
One PERMANENT stamp can be used to mail a letter (weighing up to 30 grams) anywhere in Canada. You can also use PERMANENT stamps in conjunction with additional postage to mail larger letters, parcels or to send mail internationally.
