Some of my mates emigrated to Australia in the 1960's, but when I decided to join them many years later I couldn't get an entry permit because they were now only letting skilled tradesmen in , so I let it drop.
If I'd really wanted to get in, I could have gone there on a holiday visa, then either married an Aussie bird so's I could stay permanent, or quietly vanished into the outback and lived like croc dundee for the rest of my days..
