Good time to be in Sydney - Sydney Festival just started, so lots happening.

I went to see some Shakespeare in the park on Saturday night. Bicentennial Park at Rozelle - spectacular location on the water - and a view different to that usually seen - more the working part of the harbour, tug berths, etc.

It was probably good - but I've decided I'm too old and arthritic to sit on the ground for 3 hours. The last hour was just agony - as I couldn't find a spot on me that didn't hurt (almost!)

@margo,
I've been to some Shakespeare in the park here.....but they have moved the audience around for different scenes, which made it easier.

Yes - a friend was telling me about that - but we just sat / hunched / crouched/ reclined - and the players moved about.

They were lucky to be heard over my whimpering! Mr. Green

Sorry to go on & on about the weather ...
But is anyone else experiencing anything like this?
Or has Victoria been targeted? Wink

It's crazy out there! Surprised

Dust-up ... Snow at Mount Hotham this morning. Photo: Facebook

Parts of Victoria have been buffeted by winds of more than 100km/h as Melbourne's hot summer conditions give way to an unseasonal wintry blast.

Just a week after Victoria began the new year with a heatwave, high winds were recorded around the city this morning, with gusts of 95km/h felt in Frankston, 83km/h in Fawkner and 74km/h at Melbourne Airport ..... <cont>

@msolga,
Just had a work colleague on hols in Melbourne text me that it hailed, was 15 degrees and she was in a coffee shop listening to Patti Smith. So a 50/50 day.

@msolga,
A prick relative in Adelaide was asking where summer went yesterday - one of her FB friends had the right answer: Queensland. Glorious weather here in Cairns - swimming pool and cocktail shaker copped a workout on the weekend.

@hingehead,
It hailed, too, where she was?
A least I didn't get that!
This is really bizarre. Confused
I'm wearing a windcheater & socks (!) this morning! Smile

@hingehead,
Oh gloat, gloat, gloat, why don't you? Wink

I suspect we'll have a record high any day now.
And a possible cyclone?
This is confusing the hell outta my poor tomato plants.

@msolga,
You can have our obligatory cyclone if you'd like!

Haven't had weather this good after Christmas since I got here in 2005, usually we're into the wet season by now.

Yes, I would have thought so, too.
Enjoy the good weather while it lasts, hinge.

Very similar to here, Deb.
I'm glad Victoria is not alone in this weirdness! Wink

You southerners are really experiencing odd weather!

I was watching the tennis from Kooyong last night - and they're wearing long sleeves. And the audience in jackets in Adelaide. This is mid-summer, f'gudness sake!

Sydney has had a run of essentially mild weather, not too hot, not too cold, quite a bit of cloud and some rain. Fierce winds last night. Pretty good today. If it wasn't that I have to work I'd be out there frolicking!

@dlowan,
No. Sadly. Sad

Can't get the time off! My co-worker is getting married in March - and will be totally useless from now on- there's a crisis every day - that requires all her concentration, so the boss has grounded me! Waaahhh!

Doesn't seem fair, but.....

So another Australia Day.

Streaming the hottest 100 with the cricket on the telly with the sound down.

Honestly toyed with just going to work and have a day off in lieu after a deadline. Mrs Hinge is working (in Canberra this week).

@hingehead,
I am totally relaxing with the woollies. Might be able to go for a good long walk this evening and, hopefully, get one in for the woollies, as it just doesn't seem as hot today.

Might watch some tennis.

Don't even know if the Adelaide test cricket is over?

I'm taking tomorrow off and am off to lunch in the hills tomorrow and a film on Saturday.

I get you re Australia Day (the bloody flags alone do me in) but I do love a four day weekend!

@dlowan,
Day 3 of the cricket. India on the ropes last I looked.

I would have liked the four day weekend but timelines are tight as semester start approaches. Will probably do some work later this arvo. Housework first.
