As a recovering addict, I can tell you that the only way to stop is to move away from your old friends or simply don't contact any of them. I move to somewhere that was a long time retreat location and now I'm 2 years sober. It would have never happened if I had stayed in that town.

With that kind of an attitude, you should never attempt to teach any EFLs, Region. With Max's explanation most EFLs beyond beginner would easily get it.
