You will be surprised to see the emotions that will come out during this time. Everyone is under a tremendous amount of stress and for parents I think this is where they really realize that you aren't a baby anymore. You are a woman. And you are leaving.
In my whole life, I'd never seen my father cry. Not even look sad. But he cried like a baby at my wedding. Twice. Once in the church and then during the father/daughter dance.
Kristie, your new avatar is HAWT!
I love the dress. The simplicity and elegance is stunning.
I tried to absorb your mom's behaviour. All I could channel was envy.
Simplicity and elegance, for a barbie doll (post-breast reduction).
Very Allie McBeal.
While stunning when worn by a stick-figure/bulimic model, that dress won't look quite right on a woman with an ample bosom.
Since the gown is intended for a single use, it is the ultimate statement of Conspicuous Consumption... how ironic that it can only be worn after months of caloric parsimony.
The dress is beautiful and you'll look gorgeous in it.
It is your wedding and your day, so do whatever you
want to - everyone else should wait their turn or
be quiet if they passed it up (the opportunity). Your
family has no right to put a grey cloud over this
most joyous and special day of yours.
Actually, a strapless dress like that, with the corseted top looks and fits much better on a woman with breasts than on a flat chested model.
Oh lordy, moms and daughters and weddings!
What with the stress of dealing with her mom,
my own lovely bride was 86 pounds on our
wedding day. If there'd been a wind, we'd have
lost her.
But you know what? She made it through OK.
And so will you. All the best!
I agree with Kriste, a woman needs to have upper body shape to wear a strapless dress, otherwise the top of the dress will float around.
Joe, you will look beautiful and elegant on your wedding day :-)
Mom will simmer down soon enough.
What a beautiful dress Joa :-D
I am sorry to hear of the troubles you are having with your mom.
(((HUGS)))
Kristie... picture Anna Nicole Smith in that dress.

Again, a busty woman looks better in strapless corset type dresses.
you guys are great. if it wasn't for a2k, I probably wouldn't have thought about what my mom is going through and why.
yikes. is that how you're picturing me? that i'm anna's size? teehehehe
reminds me, i do feel like eating a nice glazed donut. yum!
This is the result of a flat chested woman trying to "fill in" a dress. If this gown didn't have straps, it would be an ankle bracelet!
Can anyone see the above pic? Is there a food shortage in Hollywood?
I'll try again................potential bracelet.
weird. now the 1st and second attempt work.
ha. wedding dresses are entirely different. they hold you like no other dress or gown i've worn, imo.
You're right Paula. Gwyneth should have worn another
dress that was more appropriate to her flat chest.
Gwyenth has a figure that designers love, but that dress just isn't for her.
Conspicuous consumption to have a wedding dress? Perhaps, re the whole world including tsunami victims. But it is a dress of joy, and to me rather mean spirited to do a dump about it, Magus. You and I rarely talk, since I don't post much on politics, but I agree with you on a lot of things. Not this one.
As to whether the dress could work, just look at Jao's avatar. That one works.
