Because he didn't leave a message. If I was interested in a girl online dating I would leave a message and try to start a conversation before randomly giving her my number. He probably gives his number to many other girls.

No. I have done online dating before. I always send a message to girls I'm interested in. I would never just leave my number to a random girl without saying anything. Thats just rude and weird. No guy would do that to a girl he's attracted to. You only talk on the phone if you have both agreed to it.

He has to leave his name so the person calling has someone to respond to when they call. I'm sure he leaves his name and number on random girls profiles all the time. It happens a lot in online dating according to girls I have spoken to.
