Well, I tried to find one that wasn't too specific to South Africa
Sort of self-explanatory. Recently, some of the largest companies in South Africa were caught price-fixing (of bread). Many people, of course, cannot afford bread daily, therefore they live below the "bread-line".
As an aside, only one of the companies was fined, ZAR300mill. or there about (about US$40mill.), which is small change for them. The other companies got off lightly if I remember correctly, but none of the companies involved have actually lowered their prices. The price of a loaf of bread, as I can remember, has gone up 200% or more in a few years- well above inflation.
On the SABC tv channel's 30th birthday. Many people say the SABC has always been the mouth-piece of the government, in the apartheid era and today.
