If you know any basic calculus, Jerk is the derivative of acceleration.
And even knowing what I was looking for, I had a really hard time finding something for you that did a good job of breaking it down.

It doesn't look very helpful at first, but a little ways further down, it breaks down exactly what you need.
Also, make sure you check your units. Kilometers vs. Meters and Meters/second/second/second and Meters/second/second/minute.
As for physics degrees, even though I was really good at math and science in high school, I haven't taken a math class in university. I'm quite a long ways away from a physics degree, myself.
