@rowanmikaio,
Argh! And I keep getting an 4-digit number that DOES add up to fourteen! (Haven't learned about jerk in physics yet... harder to teach oneself than I expected!)

@wipplewhirl,
If you know any basic calculus, Jerk is the derivative of acceleration.

And even knowing what I was looking for, I had a really hard time finding something for you that did a good job of breaking it down.

http://www.physicsforums.com/showthread.php?t=415776
It doesn't look very helpful at first, but a little ways further down, it breaks down exactly what you need.

Also, make sure you check your units. Kilometers vs. Meters and Meters/second/second/second and Meters/second/second/minute.

As for physics degrees, even though I was really good at math and science in high school, I haven't taken a math class in university. I'm quite a long ways away from a physics degree, myself.

@rowanmikaio,
Thank you so much. That link was perfect, and I think I've even learned something.

That's what I love about the LC. It stretches my brain and makes me learn new things. I haven't taken math in four years, but I always loved it.

@wipplewhirl,
The Negg Festival has started, and varius Neopets have decided to pool their resources to try to help in the Negg Faerie's quests...

A pink Chomby and a yellow Bruce put their Neopoints together and found that they had 4712 Neopoints. Then a rainbow Kacheek and a green Usul counted their Neopoints and found that they had 3925 NP total. Then an orange Nimmo and a pirate Ruki emptied their pockets and counted up 3774 Neopoints.

How many Neopoints do the blue Quiggle and the purple Kau have? Please enter ONLY your answer as a number with no punctuation or no other information. For example, if you found the answer to be 5000 Neopoints, you would enter "5000" as your answer.

@rowanmikaio,
I've tried looking at arithmancy and searching the colors/species on neopets and no luck so far.

THIS WEEKS PUZZLE - ends Next Wednesday, most likely

@ninixD,
Well I'm having no luck so far, so maybe a hint? Obviously I'm looking at this entirely the wrong way.

@rowanmikaio,
Search the most obvious thing in the search bar. Then match items and add values. Smile

@ninixD,
That was the first thing I did and nothing I'm getting is adding up to 4712 (the first set)

OH! Ok. I was doing the right thing the wrong way. I feel really dumb now. Just a tiny misconnect. These are the sorts of things I don't like about LCs. You sometimes have to make leaps that aren't necessarily logical.

OOOps --- well, i got it wrong. =(

i figured JellNeo's item database would be fastest. and it worked for the other pairs.
but it has a wrong value for one that determines the answer.

I have been searching on Google and in Jellyneo's item database, but so far I have yet to find the answer.

I feel so stupid. = =

At first, i'll admit that I was also doing the "right thing the wrong way". But then i looked at the Lenny conundrum. And again. And at somewhere else. just for confirmation, 4 digits, sum of 18?

@wertyiu102,
My answer was 4 digits, sum of 18 as well.

Or maybe the other way around? Wink
Think about the theme of this week's LC.

@lalala1232,
I got four digits adding up to 18.

Also, you apparently can't edit posts after someone has replied to it?

@machelle50,
Using search bar, check "negg." Look at the neggs with the associated colors for each coupling and add up the estimated values to get the total amount reflected in the neopoints pooled. It explains two of the three couplings listed (unsure about where the pirate Ruki comes into this).

@wertyiu102,
Actually, I think that's about the level we've generally given hints at when people have asked. WingsofAeris didn't give the answer for someone to type in, but just gave instructions for the process. The person that wants to answer the LC still needs to go through the work of figuring it out.
